The Young Professionals Mission


The Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals is a unique entity of the Buffalo Urban League designed to serve as an empowerment forum for individuals compromised primarily in the age range of 21 to 40 living in Buffalo.


BULYPNY ADVOCATES and supports the mission of the Buffalo Urban League by training the next generation of leaders through:

• Volunteer opportunities

• Political engagement

• Personal and professional development

• Fund development


BULYP is CONNECTED nationally with the 56 chapters of the National Urban League Young Professionals. This network of young professionals across the country works to eradicate social and economic inequalities through the local implementation of the National Urban League’s Empowerment agenda.


Hosted by the Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals, we are closing out August by celebrating Black restaurants in WNY, in alignment with Black Business Month! The 7th Annual Black Restaurant Week 716 will convene from Monday, August 26, 2024 to Sunday, September 1, 2024!

Registration is open to the following types of businesses:

• Bartending Services
• Bakeries
• Catering Services
• Coffee Shops
• Confectionary Shops
• Cooking Classes
• Dietitians & Nutritionists
• Food Trucks
• Juiceries
• Meal Prep Services
• Private Chefs
• Restaurants

Participating businesses in Black Restaurant Week 716 must be restaurants or licensed food/beverage services that are local, independently owned, and not a part of a franchise. Business profiles will appear on the website beginning one week prior to the event. All registered businesses will receive a digital marketing kit prior to the event.
